Amenea Skin Art: the trendiest temporary tattoos out there

Salut tout le monde !

After moving to Paris for my year abroad, I decided to take a little blogging break (partly due to an exciting yet demanding internship, non-stop Parisian partying, excess wining and dining (in other words, not finding enough time to keep up-to-date with my blog!)

With fashion obviously in the forefront *sassy girl emoji*, my next blog posts will cover a wider range of things such as beauty, jewellery, lifestyle and travel.

During my search for up-and-coming brands with an edge, I stumbled across something which really caught my eye. “Would you ever get a tattoo?” is a question we’ve all asked ourselves or friends at some point, and I can undoubtedly speak for everyone here, right?

I came across the brand Amenea Skin Art on Instagram, whose feed is wonderfully eye-catching thanks to its very aesthetic pastel pink colour scheme, quirky designs and beautiful posts; I guess you could call it Instagram eye candy.

I recently met with the brand’s Parisian founder Charlotte, who has been working on this project for a few months now. The idea sparked from her wanting to sport a cute, decal-style temporary tatt on a night out, but not being able to find any trendy and realistic designs that would stay on for long enough, so she took the matter into her own hands and started up Amenea.

The first ever Wanderlust collection comprises four designs: a perfect pineapple, ‘wanderlust’ written in calligraphic style, a sharp diamond and a mini world map. And if things couldn’t get any better, the tattoos are hypoallergenic, kind to sensitive skin and can last for up to seven days (you have my word - mine did!) When I met with Charlotte, the Amenea Skin Art page had reached 700 followers within 40 days of the brand’s launch, and it’s now on the verge of reaching 2000 (amazing, right?!)

Amenea’s founder gave me a sneak preview of the second collection entitled Bang Bang, consisting of eight tattoos which all speak volumes of rock’n’roll edge: ‘bang bang’ in bold, a red rose, a gun and bold quotation mark symbols.

I’m evidently a big fan of the concept and love wearing the Amenea temporary tatts (my picture below!)

You can shop the the Amenea collections online here

See you guys in the next post!

SS17 Rock and Roll vibes

Hello!

This whole week I've been very excited to share this post with everyone, as I had the pleasure of collaborating with Elena Gola, an incredible London-based fashion and lifestyle photographer.

This look is all about fusing Spring and Summer. I've been really into Zadig et Voltaire over the past few months and really love how this ready-to-wear brand successfully bridge the gap between the laid-back Rock and Roll vibe and the refined sophistication of high fashion.

Recently, the typical UK '14 degrees, sunshine with clouds' weather leaves me feeling rather perplexed in the mornings as I endeavour to put together an outfit that is both warm enough and summery...

Let's begin with the Bardot, or in more simple terms: the off-the-shoulder top

I paired the bardot with my favourite Zara black quilted crossbody bag, which is very Moschino-esque thanks to its unique patches.

2015 was definitely the year of the collarbone-bearing neckline, but this spring, the trend has returned. From its growing prevalence, it will undoubtedly be the centrepiece to SS17 style.

This stunning Miss Selfridge vermillion frill trim bardot gives the outfit a very exotic and carefree feel. I wear this an awful lot - it truly is such a versatile item which works perfectly as both a daytime and evening look.

I've also had the pleasure of collaborating with Coconut Lane, a very chic and aesthetically pleasing brand, specialising in fashion accessories and homeware. Their motto is 'Stay sassy, classy and bit bad-assy' which I just love! You can get 20% off on all of their products by using my discount code: nicolerayment20 - check them out!

Nothing can top a biker jacket and some leather ankle boots to complete a Rock and Roll look. I was also extremely lucky to have come across this lush red motorbike which complemented the top amazingly.

I also decided to play around with the look by swapping the cute gold necklace for a thick black choker. This, alongside the very cool gold vinyl CDs in the background really helped to reinforce the look I was going for.

I hope you've enjoyed this post as much as I have enjoyed putting it together!

See you in the next post.

Lots of love, Nicole xx

Sporty Chic for Spring

As we all muster up the courage to ditch our thick coats in exchange for light tops, jackets, and even cardis for those brave enough - I guess we can officially say hello to spring!

The colour yellow is omnipresent at the moment, and I would definitely say it's THE colour this season. But if I’m frank, it’s never been my colour, especially not the pale yellow that I associate spring with. Ironically, my new favourite trainers are mustard yellow - maybe this is because I have found the ‘right’ shade of yellow that works for me...

I saw these shoes on the Zara website a few weeks ago, and they really caught my eye because they are completely different to any pair of trainers I currently own. Mustard and white, raised streaks AND platforms: futuristic or what?

As I catch glimpses of what the people of London are drifting towards this season, bright colours prevail (and I mean a whole lot of them!) We’re talking people nonchalantly strolling around in bright blues, oranges, pinks, greens, and so on. I'd be lying if I said I didn't admire this audacious kind of colour-combining.

Having already established that I am not an avid enthusiast of the colour yellow, I am also not so keen on combining too many different colours in one look. However, I definitely faced my fears with this outfit and came to the realisation that in order combat your excess colour-combining phobias, you should just keep the most colourful item as far away from your eyes as possible! In other words, get yourself a pair of colour pop shoes! (It works!)

Here, I decided to combine my colour pop sneakers with some simple black skinnies, a black denim biker jacket, a grey jumper, a cute black leather backpack and of course, some beaut cat eye sunglasses.

Fashion is all about balance, it’s neither about replicating what you’ve seen in a magazine from top to bottom, nor seeking to put together an outfit which mimics what a blogger is wearing because 'that’s the exact way you’re meant to put such items of clothing together.' This is why fashion is so great: there is no specific 'way'! Inspiration is excellent - without a doubt. But personal style is about working with what you've seen and injecting your own touch by combining items in a certain way to make the outfit YOU!

See you guys in the next post,
Love, Nicole x
